Day 878 Hold the "S"

Pep wasn't the only one in the house that stayed in bed and lounged all day. I quickly realized when waking up that it wasn't going to be a day for me to move. I had plans for noon, that I told myself I might be feeling up to, but as the morning progressed, so did my flu like symptoms. My bed was the only place I wanted to be, snuggled in to rest, accompanied on and off by Pep for a bit of pet therapy. Cats are the best company when you're not feeling well, they are always happy to spend a day relaxing in bed. My friends were all taking part in New Year celebrations, Polar Plunges and kicking off the start of the year with parties, texting me updates and Happy New Year wishes. There I was, perfectly content in my PJ's, only getting up to drink a bit of Advil cold and sinus before heading back to bed. The happy new year wishes make me crazy each year, it's common for folks to say, " Happy New Years" instead of "Happy New Year" .... why?! It's a new year not multiple years, adding the "S" implies plural and go figure (since I'm certainly not one to preach proper grammar), but this example of incorrect grammar makes me crazy. I suppose staying in bed saved me from hearing, "Happy New Years" over and over, a small silver lining.  Hopefully, one day in bed will have me rested up and back on my feet, ready to enter the new year...day two. Fingers crossed day two of 2025 is a healthier one for me and Pep enjoys having the bed all to herself. I'll be wishing everyone a Happy New Year as I reenter the world and hope that folks hold the "S" for St. Valentine's Day.
