Day 879 Fresh Air
Blue sky, sunshine, fresh air and a long walk, not exactly the way to recover from a bad cold but what the heck, fresh air never hurts. Typically I walk closer to home, but whenever there's a chance to explore surrounding areas, I go for it. The Quonset bike path is only one town over, right near where Tim works and is a great walk...if you can find it. The path begins right behind a shopping mall and has several parking lots within the Quonset maze of roads. There's a great lot half the way down the path and jumping on at that point makes for a quick mile and a half walk down to the water (roughly). The only way to find the parking lot is to GPS the location, otherwise, the maze will have you driving around in circles. The bike path has beautiful open pasture fields lined with old wooden fences, an inlet of water with a really cool old barge and great bird watching for those with a keen eye. There's a little side path that leads to an old cemetery where I found a tombstone dating back to 1788. I always take the unknown side paths for a little extra adventure. The bike path ends at a beach, where I found a really cool rock and watched a gaggle of geese slowly swim away as I arrived. The sunshine beamed down onto the water, making it look as if the edge of sea were wearing a halo, stunning. Although, still not feeling fantastic, I could feel an infusion of vitamins as the sunshine hit my face and the cold fresh salt air entered my lungs. OK...so I was back in bed by 5pm, but all that fresh air had to help! With a bit more sunshine and bucket full of cold meds, I'm hoping to be feeling better by the weekend. I'm hoping to get all my Christmas cheer carefully packed up and put away for next year, never as much fun as brining it out. I've got my work cut out for me, packing it all up, but seeing the house so festive makes it all worth it. Who knows, Tim might even surprise me and jump in to help??? If all goes well, I'll have help packing up decor, kick this cold out the door, embrace 2025 adventures and be blessed with sunshine and fresh air along the way.
