Day 882 Content
Closing the weekend with an unexpected dinner date night. Tim and I came dangerously close to never leaving the house all weekend, but at the last minute decided to rejoin the world and grab dinner out. We had been busy all day, continuing on with our January clean up, on the docket, the refrigerator. I figured the first week of the year would be a great time to clean everything out of the fridge and check the dreaded expiration dates, keeping only 2025. For those folks that move occasionally this may seem crazy, but it's amazing how fast a few years can go by when you're a mustard! Tim scrubbed the fridge while I kept or discarded condiments and other nonsense that was cluttering prime refrigerator real estate. Biggest culprit being chocolate, in every form. We had Chocolate from Easter, Halloween, bars, chips and every variety in between. It's a sad day when you throw away good chocolate, but it had to be done. With a squeaky clean fridge and freezer, I suggested dinner out and Tim was happy for the plan. Mariner Grille is our go to for a great meal and fantastic atmosphere, it never disappoints. I didn't think I was very hungry until my steamed muscles, soaked in a white wine sauce were placed in front of me. I devoured every single one before Tim was half way through his burger! We thoroughly enjoyed our quiet weekend at home but dinner out was worth getting dressed for. We chatted about how each new year, everyone hopes for a better year ahead and agreed we thought 2024 was pretty darn great. All years tend to have highs and lows so it's all about what you focus your lens on. We can only hope 2025 is as good to us as years past and that whatever comes our way, we get through together. There's something to be said for living long enough to appreciate life, each and every day and the folks that make it joyful. Stepping into 2025 slowly.. but with intention and appreciation, thankful, blessed, happy and content.
