Pep is the only one crazy enough to still want to go outside. The gusty winds and cold temps don't seem to trouble her at all, unlike the rest of us that try our best to stay warm inside. The news has been reporting warming centers throughout the state, with overnight homeless shelters set up in the city. I can't imagine how horrible it would be to not have a warm place to sleep, something most of us take for granted. Meanwhile, in the land of spoiled, I've been watching my vacation countdown and can almost feel the warm sunshine in my daydreams. We'll be visiting several islands, a few I've never been to before and can't wait to explore. We'll also have a night in Miami before jumping on the cruise ship, a little vacation jump start before our seven day cruise. It will be the first time Tim and I have vacationed with friends...hopefully we'll all make good travel companions and still be friends when we return. I have a feeling it will be fantastic... after all it will be six of our fabulous eight with nothing but fun on our minds. I'm thrilled to have found someone to stay with Pep, as much as she loves going outside, I would hate to see her locked out for lengthy periods. Although, I'm not use to someone staying at my house, other than my kids, so there's lots to plan and prep for her stay. The pre vacation prep will keep me busy for the rest of January, if I can force myself to function in this cold weather! Once the sun goes down I want to climb into my warm bed and leave everything for daylight, at least I'll be well rested for my trip. Even Pep enjoys lounging inside by the warm fire after exploring the cold outdoors, maybe she's not so crazy after all.
