Day 904 Faux Pas

Dinner at Gregg's without indulging in dessert, who knew this was possible? I met with Tory for one of our catch up dinners. Having skipped the month of December there was lots to catch up on. She's as great as ever, will forever be one of my favorite humans and always has a story for me. We chatted a bit about her upcoming September wedding, honeymoon ideas and how tricky holidays become with blended families. I can't wait to see her on her wedding day, all grown up and beautiful in her gown! We chatted through dinner then glanced at the incredible dessert offerings, each one more decadent than the next. Tory ordered hers to go, and for the first time ever at Gregg's, I passed on a sweet indulgence. I'm saving up all my calories for vacation, which will make sweet treats on the ship even tastier. Cruises are known for having amazing food and they certainly live up to all the hype. I've never been a fan of a buffet but cruise ships do them well, with servers behind each section, keeping things clean and peoples grubby hands off food. I don't believe "All you can eat" is ever a good idea, doubt anyone should attempt to eat all they can but I've seen a few try. During our last cruise, I was thrilled with the soft serve ice cream station, dispensing myself a vanilla soft serve each afternoon. Silly I'm sure, with all the food options on the ship that I was so taken with the ice cream station but it was so darn tasty. Who knows what the treat of the trip will be this year, only time will tell. Although Gregg's desserts are the best around, I'm guessing the cruise ship will put out a display of sweets that rival Gregg's. Of course, I'll have to taste them all to see how they compare! Tory and I will be meeting again next month, after my trip and both with more stories to share. Next time I won't skip dessert...It must have been a once in a lifetime faux pas.
