Day 950 Bite-Sized Treats

After missing two weekends due to feeling under the weather, I finally woke up with weekend with a renewed sense of energy. About time- my house was begging for some attention! I dove into cleaning, vacuuming, and giving everything a good once-over. With the house back in order, I turned my focus to prepping for a St. Patrick's Day celebration...party prep.
I settled on bite-sized treats, tiny cupcakes, brownie bites and cookies, and will be putting together a dazzling dessert display for the party. Baking always puts me in a good mood, playing with sugar sprinkles and color spray has a way of bringing a smile. Hopefully the results will bring smiles to all my friends.
Midday brought a special treat of its own: my son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter came over for lunch. They arrived right on time, just as I finished cooking a hearty, hot meal. Everyone loved it, and we followed up lunch with some quality family time. We played a couple rounds of Old Maid- a classic-before breaking out one of our all-time favorites, Goat Lords. It's a game that's always more fun with a group and the laughter-filled afternoon flew by in a blur.
Once they headed home, I found myself back on the couch, diving into my latest zombie obsession: The Walking Dead. I've made it through six seasons now, more than halfway! I'm amazed they've made so many seasons, with characters dropping like flies! Every episode seems to bring new peril for the group. But I suppose that's just how life would be in a zombie apocalypse. It felt a little odd for Tim and me to settle in on a Saturday night, watch TV, and happily turn in early, but sometimes that's what the day calls for.
The weekend isn't over yet, though! Tomorrow, we'll cap it off with a St. Patrick's Day party. I'm looking forward to donning some festive green attire and ring inSt. Patrick's Day Eve with friends at the beach club. It'll be the perfect way to bid farewell to the weekend before heading back to the grind of the week ahead. Here's to good health, good company, and wee bit of holiday cheer!
