Day 960 Maintenance

It’s been ages—almost three months—since my last facial, and holy cow, was this one appreciated. While facials are a luxury for many, at my age, they’ve become more of a necessary maintenance routine, much like getting an oil change for an old car. As I settled onto the heated bed, snuggling under the soft covers, I was ready for a blissful hour of relaxation. Little did I know, this session would come with a surprise.

One of the first things my esthetician did was grab a pair of tweezers and casually mention that she was going to remove a hair from my chin. Wait, what?! My mind immediately went to the old hag in Snow White, while my reflection was anything but sinister. Did I have a magic mirror that missed this? I never noticed a stray hair on my face, but apparently, it was there—visible to the naked eye!

That single hair being tweezed off was the moment my facial became worth every penny. It’s amazing how something so small can make such a big difference. After that, the real magic began. For the next hour, my face was washed, scrubbed, exfoliated, and masked—followed by a soothing massage. By the time I left, my skin felt as smooth as silk. No blemishes, no stray hairs, and certainly no "hag-like" features.

I honestly thought I looked fabulous before the facial, but now? I couldn’t help but admire how much more refreshed I looked. I’m not sure when my next appointment is, but I’d better check and make sure it’s on the books. With sixty fast approaching, I might need to increase my maintenance schedule!

Facials may seem like a luxury, but they’re an investment in both relaxation and self-care. Whether it's for your skin or simply for a well-deserved moment of peace, a facial is always worth the time and money!
