Day 962 Game Night

There's a new board game in the house: Wingspan. The cover doesn’t give any hints as to how the game is played, but according to my son, it’s the best game ever. On his recommendation, Tim immediately went online and bought the game for me (he’s like that). If playing this game brings my son over more often, then I’m all in. Any chance for a visit is a bonus!

I’m not great at reading directions, so I’ll be waiting for my son to come teach Tim and me how to play. We may need to start scheduling regular game nights for Mahjong and now Wingspan. I love a good old-fashioned game night; I always have. Although now, with only Tim and me in the house, we need to import gamers, which makes it a bit trickier.

With my birthday around the corner, I can always plan a birthday game night and most likely will. Around the corner... seriously, I only have a smidge over one more week of my 50s, then it’s on to the big 6-0! Wow... no matter how you slice it, sixty is a full-fledged senior! I look forward to embracing my new age, being older and hopefully wiser. So far, I haven’t hit an age I didn’t like, and certainly wouldn’t go back in time, so there’s lots to celebrate.

I’ve decided against one big party; I’d rather have small celebrations with everyone I love. Maybe sixty celebrations for turning sixty... that should keep me busy for the year! And now, with a new game to learn, I'm pleased to say, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.
