Day 963 #SoonToBeSixty
TGIF vibes filled the day! I was up just after 4 a.m., already mentally preparing for the busy day ahead. My morning began with a few chores—writing, filling the pellet stove, tackling the dishes, doing laundry, feeding the chickens and the cat, and packing a lunch for Tim. By 6:25, I was ready to leave the house, but not before Tim, who woke up at 6:10, threw on his clothes, brushed his teeth, and was ready to go. He seemed completely unaware that he’s living the Life of Riley!
It was a treat to ride in with Tim for once. Our schedules rarely align, so the rare opportunity to share a ride was something I really appreciated. Tim’s morning routine is effortlessly simple compared to mine—his easy start to the day made me smile, we certainly are a yin and yang kinda couple.
I was headed to a conference right next to Tim’s work—an event I had organized, so I knew it would be a busy day. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, and despite the long hours, I felt good about how the day turned out. After the conference wrapped up, Tim and I joined some of my friends for a little TGIF cheer. It was the perfect way to relax after such a packed day—chatting about the day, ideas for next year and celebrating the end of the week with good company.
When we finally made it home, there were two packages waiting for me—one from Dawn and one from Tim. Dawn had already texted me, telling me not to open hers, but she knows me well enough to know I can’t wait! Tim was happy to have me open his gift early, and I’m so glad I did. He gave me the most stunningly beautiful gold Hawaiian bracelet, one I’ve been eyeing for years. I’ve asked for it in the past but had never gotten it, so this was such a thoughtful and unexpected surprise.
I’ll be showing off my new bracelet as often as possible—although, it might have to share the spotlight with my Apple Watch. The Apple Watch isn’t exactly my favorite fashion accessory, but I rely on it to track my steps every day, so it’s a necessary evil. Now, with my new bracelet, I have the perfect balance of practicality and style.
As the week wraps up, I’m filled with gratitude for the little moments that make life special, and I can’t wait to see what next week will bring. #SoonToBeSixty
