Day 966 Let the Celebrations Begin!

There's something about the magic of celebrating a birthday that brings everything into focus. As I kicked off my birthday celebrations with some of my favorite gals in the world, I couldn’t help but reflect on the beautiful bond we've shared through the years. We sat around chatting about everything under the sun—laughing, reminiscing, and in awe of how fast time has flown.

Wasn’t it just yesterday we were working out together, enjoying walks, and celebrating new babies in our lives? The years seem to have slipped by in the blink of an eye, but here we are, with kids growing up (even the youngest ones!). They say that if you’ve been friends with someone for more than seven years, you’re in it for life. Well, I guess that means the six of us are stuck with each other, and I couldn't be happier about it.

As the evening unfolded, we started dreaming up some fun plans for the upcoming spring and summer. A trip to New York? Yes, please. Block Island getaway? Definitely. A lazy day by Kathy’s pool and an evening spent lounging on my deck watching my chickens—simple pleasures that make my heart full. Of course, with 14 kids between us all, we know the best-laid plans can sometimes get sidetracked, but hey, that’s life! The busy schedules and hectic days just make our time together even more special.

In addition to celebrating my upcoming birthday, we also toasted to Nicole’s big day, although it's noteworthy that she's significantly younger than me! The crew showered us both with love, and I felt incredibly grateful. I received a beautiful pair of Kate Spade earrings and a stunning Lilly Pulitzer dress—talk about knowing someone’s style! They really do know me so well.

We couldn’t help but laugh as we realized our group text about plans never actually mentioned where we’d meet—just the time. But, of course, we ended up at Camden’s at our bowling alley, which has now become “our place.” There’s something so comforting about traditions like that. A few appetizers, a couple of cocktails, and a whole lot of laughter made the evening fly by.

As I reflect on all the love and laughter, I’m reminded that turning sixty is no small milestone—it’s a big deal, and I’m determined to make this year a year-long celebration. With friends like mine by my side, I’m sure it’s going to be a year full of unforgettable memories. So here’s to embracing the big moments and enjoying every second of it. After all, I'm just the gal to do it!
