Day 969 Sunny & Gizmo

It’s been a while since I’ve given an update on the Eagle family, so I figured one was long overdue. After weeks of anticipation, the eaglets have finally been named! The bigger one is Sunny, and the smaller one is Gizmo. Not bad names for these two tiny feathered friends, right?

Jackie and Shadow, the proud eagle parents, continue to bring food to the nest, feeding their growing babies all day long. It’s a beautiful sight to witness their care and dedication. Lately, though, I’ve noticed something that’s a little unsettling. The parents seem to take off hunting for longer periods, leaving the babies alone for longer than I’m comfortable with as a viewer. It’s a bit nerve-wracking, but I trust that the babies are in good hands.

Sadly, one of the eaglets didn’t make it through the winter storm we had a few weeks ago. It was a tough moment, but it’s comforting to see that the two remaining babies are thriving. They’ve grown stronger, and it seems like they’re doing well despite the challenges. Nature has its ups and downs, but it’s always moving forward.

Since I’ve rejoined the land of the living after being sick, I haven’t been able to watch the feathered family as much as I did before. However, I still check in on them every day. Watching this eagle crew has become a bit of an addiction, and I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of their antics. It’s always a joy to see how much they’ve grown and changed.

On a side note, I’ve been deep into another addiction of mine: The Walking Dead. I’m still trying to make my way through all eleven seasons, and I’ve finally reached the last one. Honestly, I’m amazed there are any characters left to carry the show! If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my TV bingeing habits, it’s that I should be careful about what I pick to watch when I’m sick. Next time, I’ll try selecting a show with only a couple of seasons—maybe something a little less intense than the endless walker battles of The Walking Dead.

But for now, I’ll keep checking in on my eagle family and pushing through the final season of the show. Life may get hectic, but it’s these little things that keep me grounded. Stay tuned for more updates, and of course, Birthday happenings!
