Day 970 Birthday Eve

There are friendships, and then there are friendships—the kind that are built over decades of laughter, love, and the occasional embarrassing moment. For over twenty-five years, the Fab Four and I have been marking each other’s birthdays in the most memorable ways, and let me tell you, every celebration feels as fresh and exciting as the first.

This year’s birthday eve was no different. With balloons floating around, ridiculously large cocktails in hand, we had another unforgettable evening. We spent the night reminiscing about the past, laughing at our milestone birthdays together, and marveling at how quickly time has flown by. Seriously—how did twenty years zip by in what feels like the blink of an eye? From forty to sixty, it’s as if someone hit fast-forward, and here we are—still as close as ever.

But in the midst of all the memories and nostalgia, there was a fresh sense of gratitude. I’m constantly reminded that finding a good crew in life is essential. Good friends—true friends—are like soul food. They nourish you in ways you never knew you needed. And these ladies? Well, they’ve been my rock. Every laugh shared, every glass raised, and every heartfelt conversation has only deepened our bond.

As I sat there, soaking in the love and joy of the evening, I realized just how fortunate I am. The gifts, the balloons, the delicious dinner—it was all wonderful. But honestly, the highlight of the evening was the simple, profound feeling of being surrounded by the very best friends a gal could ask for. Oh, and did I mention the ridiculously large cocktails? Because those were definitely a highlight too...so big at first glance I thought it was an optical illusion.

And speaking of highlights—my new tiara? Absolutely fabulous. I couldn’t help but feel like the queen of the evening when I slipped it on. As if that wasn’t enough, I was also gifted a “It’s my birthday!” headband, which I immediately crowned myself with, because, well, it’s my birthday eve, and I was going all in.

But at the heart of it all was the reminder that life’s milestones are best celebrated with those who make the journey worth it. So, to my incredible crew (and of course, my daughter, Jess, for joining us and snapping this photo, thank you. For the laughter, the memories, and the unshakeable bond we’ve built. Here’s to many more birthdays, adventures, and memories together.

Until next year… or maybe tomorrow, because let’s be honest, we don’t need an excuse to celebrate this crew. 🎉👑
