Day 971 Cheers to Sixty

If there was a contest to find my oldest friends, these two would definitely be the winners. I’ve never known life without my Mellissa by my side, and Erica, well, she’s right there with her! So, who better to spend my birthday afternoon with than these two beautiful gals?

They picked me up and treated me to an amazing lunch at the Weekapaug Inn—a place I hadn’t been to before! It’s shocking, really, considering how much I love exploring new spots. The lunch was just as delightful as the breathtaking view of the water, but honestly, the best part was the company. Erica, who doesn’t even live in Rhode Island anymore, couldn't argue that Rhode Island is one of the prettiest darn places on the planet.

Of course, before lunch, I was treated to a pampering birthday pedicure from Donna, which was the perfect way to kick off my day. After that, it was all about relaxation and good times with friends. Color me spoiled!

By the time we wrapped up lunch and I made my way home, it was mid-afternoon, rainy, and cold. Both Tim and I agreed—this was the perfect moment to get into our PJs, hunker down, and stay home. I’m not one to force a celebration, and after a week of festivities, I was ready for a quiet evening. Plus, I’ll be sixty all year, so there’s plenty of time for wining and dining!

That evening at home together was just what I needed. After a week of celebrations, a quiet night was just what the doctor ordered. With a full calendar of upcoming plans, a quiet night is a treat.

Looking back on the day, I couldn’t be happier at sixty. I’m healthy, happy, and feel more grateful than ever. Not to mention, I still look pretty darn good if you ask me! One of the best parts of all is having lifelong friends still by my side. That’s a blessing I’ll never take for granted.

Here’s to more celebrations, more laughter, and more memories with the people who make life so special. Cheers to sixty—it's only just begun!
