Day 977 Pasta Party

A rainy day pasta party at the beach club made for a fun Saturday afternoon, hunkered inside as the rain poured outside. It seems like ages since the eight of us were all together, and boy, did we whoop it up. Starting at noon with Bellinis and a smorgasbord of appetizers, followed by a full pasta lunch with eggplant parmesan, meatballs, and everything else you can imagine, we were the last table still gathered—refusing to let the day end.

You know that saying, “You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here”? Once we knew it was time to leave, we packed up and headed to Dave and Donna’s house to continue the fun, leftover charcuterie board and a plate of cookies in hand. We sat around the kitchen island, eating, drinking, and carrying on until we finally got ourselves organized enough to play a few rounds of Herd Mentality—a silly, fun game that doesn’t require much thinking and zero strategy. It was hilarious, especially as Carole became more and more boisterous, declaring how much she loved the game and cracking us all up with her energy and eagerness for fun.

No dinner was needed—we were still full from lunch, though we continued to nibble on snacks anyway. When we finally decided to head home at 8:30, we called it an early night. But heck, after eight and a half hours together, someone had to!

Our crew is a diverse bunch, but somehow the eight of us just click when we're together. Now that it's spring, we're all getting excited for more time together—dinners outside and long beach days in the sunshine.

Here’s to more days like this—full of food, laughter, and the kind of friendship that makes time fly and rainy days feel like sunshine.
