Day 991 Why Not?
es, another birthday celebration... and why not? Donna and Dave threw an amazing Lilly Pulitzer-themed birthday dinner for me—complete with colorful decor, fun presents, party poppers, and even a quiz about Lilly herself! Donna made my favorite Chicken Milanese again this year, and it was absolutely delicious.
Carole and Ray drove up from Connecticut just for the party, and for the second year in a row, Ray baked me a birthday cake—the second one he’s ever made! It was a pink strawberry cake that matched the theme perfectly, and his homemade buttercream frosting turned out incredible.
Funny enough, I showed up in a bright pink sweater without even knowing the theme—totally on brand! Sadly, Carol and Gerard couldn’t make it, so we were six instead of eight, but we’re hoping to all be together next week for the Derby.
After dinner, we played some silly board games, had tons of laughs, and suddenly it was midnight. Tim and I went home with the leftover cake, a bunch of thoughtful gifts, and even a Tupperware full of scraps for my chickens. I love that my friends know how much the girls enjoy their treats!
It was such a fun night—full of good food, good company, and lots of love and Lilly. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate...or better friends.
