Day 994 Soft Opening
Just when you think you're going to have a quiet night at home... an invite comes in that you just can't pass up! I came home and immediately began reinforcing the chicken coop after a sleepless night of coop commotion. It didn’t appear to have any breach in security, but giving it a seasonal once-over is a good idea regardless. I worked inside the coop, surrounded by my friendly flock, making sure they would be safe from all the dangers that lurk in the night.
Once the coop was secure, I cooked dinner while Tim began assembling a cat house I had recently bought (a story for another day). After dinner, we were just starting to settle in for the night when I received an invite to attend a soft opening for a restaurant that had been closed for over a year—twist my arm. We immediately put our projects on hold to join the party and check out the restaurant’s rebuild.
Two Ten Oyster Bar sits right on Salt Pond, a spectacular spot overlooking the water, though it always had a somewhat awkward layout—until now. The interior has been completely revamped: walls removed to create a spacious, open layout with a fantastic bar that overlooks the pond. Massive windows bring in natural light, and an outdoor bar mirrors the interior vibe. It was too cold to enjoy the beautiful deck, but once the weather warms up, I’ll definitely be back.
They passed around appetizers—though neither Tim nor I ate much, having just finished dinner—but we had a couple of drinks, caught up with friends, and loved being among the first in town to check out the new space.
Once we got home, I couldn’t climb into bed fast enough, confident I’d finally get an uninterrupted night’s sleep—and that all was well in the hen house.
