Day 1014 You're my Jam

Girls' night at my house was a hit—especially with fun Kate Spade hostess gifts in hand as my friends arrived. Nicole knows how much I love certain designers, especially Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade, so she couldn’t resist picking up some cute little treats for me. She brought playing cards, shortbread cookies, and candies that had a label on top that read, “You’re my jam”—and told me I was hers! The treats were as yummy as they were fun and so thoughtful of her.

My crew all showed up with snacks, gifts, and big smiles. It’s always clear when we get together that we don’t do it nearly enough. I had invited the gang over for a pocketbook party since I know a gal who sells spectacular bags and thought I’d share the love. We each picked out a new bag, ate, drank, and enjoyed a cozy Monday night together.

Believe it or not, I had spent the morning getting a tooth pulled and starting my implant process. The extraction itself wasn’t too bad—just a bit weird with the pressure and those unsettling noises during prep. Once they finished, they stitched up the site and sent me off with antibiotics and instructions not to chew on that side of my mouth for at least ten days. I’m not sure why I didn’t consider the hole I’d have in my smile, but here I am. Luckily, it’s in the back and not too noticeable, especially since the implant won’t go in until the end of September.

After all that, I definitely deserved a fun night with friends. It reminded me how important it is to carve out time for the people who lift you up. There’s nothing like laughter, a little retail therapy, and good company to turn a rough day into a memorable one.
