Day 1032 Fingers Crossed

I’m not sure if everyone shares my fascination with the ocean, but no matter how many times I gaze out at the beautiful, salty sea, I’m mesmerized every single time. My usually busy, scurrying self can happily sit in the warm sand all day, doing nothing but daydreaming and staring at the horizon.

Lately, our beaches have been creeping inland a little more each year, bringing some waterfront homes closer to the tide than their owners might like. Whether it's soft sand or a rocky shoreline, I love it all equally—but some of my favorite long beach walks are being cut short when the tide comes in so far.

I haven’t had my first official beach day yet, but I’m packed and ready to go. Now I just need the time—and for Mother Nature to cooperate. We've been soaked here in Rhode Island from all the rain and could really use a good stretch of sunshine to dry things out.

I’ve been planning an outdoor event, so I’ve been watching the weather like a full-time meteorologist. The forecast changes by the day—sometimes even by the hour—which makes it nearly impossible to plan. Fingers crossed the rain holds off just long enough to get through the event before the skies open up again.

Quick note on yesterday’s post: Donna loves Peps! She was only joking when she said she didn’t like her—just poking fun at me for saying I’m not a fan of her dog. I figured it was obvious, but in case anyone thought I had some kind of cat-hating friend, not a chance.

Here’s hoping for sunshine, sea breezes, and that first perfect beach day soon. Until then, keep dreaming of the tide rolling in and the sand beneath your feet...and keep your fingers crossed the rain holds off for me!
