Day 1036 Cozy June Day
You would never guess it's almost July with this cold and rainy weather. I came home to find a fire going in our stove, and I can't say I disagreed with Tim's idea. The damp, chilly rain steals any glimpse of motivation we have, and all I want to do is climb under a blanket and warm my old bones. Needless to say, not much got accomplished on the home front last night!
If you had asked me how late in the season we'd be having a fire, I probably would have said the end of April—but never the end of June!
At least I managed to accomplish a thing or two during the day, including joining a focus group for a fitness program I've been part of. A friend of mine, who's a department head at URI, is conducting a study for women ages 50–75—so I fit perfectly. I only had to do a video fitness class a handful of times using resistance bands they provided, then give my feedback.
Of course, I roped a couple of friends into doing the study with me, so it turned into a fun midday treat to see them at the focus group. All we had to do was share our thoughts on the video and exercises—what we liked, didn’t like, and any other input we had. It was easy and led to a great round-robin discussion. Most of us were on the same page with our comments.
When we left, we each received a $100 Amazon gift card—and we get to keep all the fitness bands. Not a bad deal!
All in all, a productive and cozy day despite the gloomy skies. Here's hoping summer finds its way to us soon!
