Day 1066 Side Effects
I’ve said all along that the hardest part of writing my blog every day is taking and selecting a photo to share. However, the need for good pictures has given me an eye for great images—an unintentional but wonderful side effect. I can't help myself now; I instinctively reach for my phone whenever I see the light hit the ocean just right or the sky erupt into a brilliant sunset.
I’m not sure my phone will have enough memory for all the photos I’ve been capturing, but so far, it’s holding strong. How lucky are we to have such powerful cameras in our pockets, with us all the time, ready to capture the beauty around us?
My blog has evolved from mostly fashion—dresses and accessories—to daily musings and random thoughts. I like to think my photographer’s eye has evolved too. Some of my photos, I genuinely believe, are print-and-frame worthy!
Isn't that what life is all about anyway? Starting out on one path that twists and turns, only to lead you somewhere completely different without you even realizing it. Hopefully, we all end up exactly where we’re meant to be. I’d like to believe that’s true.
I caught myself thinking of being "middle-aged" the other day—which would make sense only if I lived to be 120. Realistically, I know I’ve got more years behind me than ahead, but I’m certain I still have time for a few more twists and turns, new skills, new friends, and whatever else the universe has in store. I can’t wait to see it all unfold.
Who knows—before long, I might even call myself a photographer. Funny how I’ve been writing for years and still hesitate to call myself a writer.
But maybe that’s the point. We’re all a work in progress, unfolding in unexpected ways. And if we’re lucky, we keep growing, one snapshot—and one story—at a time.
