Day 1074 Cherry Plums

 


Not sure who needs to hear this, but if you’ve never tried a cherry plum, they’re in season right now! They’re not super easy to find, but if you do come across them, pick up a few....packages of them—you’ll want to eat more than you expect.

I’ve been in bed for the past two days, surviving on a handful of saltines, so I’m more than ready to rejoin the world—and I’m definitely looking forward to some delicious treats. I’ve always been a fan of both cherries and plums, so the cherry plum feels like the perfect fusion of my two favorites. Sweet, juicy, and just the right amount of tart—it’s a tiny burst of summer joy.

Honestly, I have no idea where this fancy fruit has been hiding—kind of like me these past few days. I haven't even had the energy to talk on the phone with friends (and that says a lot!). I’ve appreciated the texts and well-wishes, but nothing has sounded better than curling up in bed. I feel like I’ve slept for days… probably because I have.

I'm not even sure I’m fully back to normal yet, but I’m up, dressed, and planning to give today a try. I’ve got to feel better by now, right?

So instead of going on about how miserable I’ve felt, I figured I’d share a little PSA about this sweet discovery. If you spot cherry plums at your local market, do yourself a favor and grab a box. Life’s all about the little indulgences—especially the sweet ones.
