Day 1081 Bright Days
I finally opened my folder but have to admit, I only made it through page one. I read as far as my follow-up appointment and a few of the do's and don'ts after surgery. Don’t rub my eyes, don’t go swimming or get water in my eyes, and don’t wear eye makeup for a week.
I don’t wear a ton of makeup—usually just a bit of eyeliner and mascara—but I have to admit, it’ll be strange going natural for a week. Who knows, maybe I’ll like it! I’ve already been letting my hair do its own thing lately, saving myself the time and hassle of straightening out the waves and the wildness. And honestly, I’m getting used to it. Maybe the no-makeup thing will grow on me too... doubtful, but we’ll see.
I know there’s still a lot more in that folder I should read, maybe I’ll have Tim read it and give me the cliff notes. With surgery just around the corner, I’m actually looking forward to a couple of days at home—Lord knows I could use the break. Bridie and the boys are coming this weekend, so I’ve got beds to make and some scurrying to do before then.
I’m curious what it’ll be like to finally see clearly—something I’ve never experienced in my entire life. Imagine that. I’m not sure my brain will know what to do with two eyes working together, both pulling their weight. I wonder if my depth perception will improve... wouldn’t it have to? That’s probably in the folder too—but I’ll get there.
Change is uncomfortable, but it’s also exciting. Bright and clear days ahead, with two eyes working together.
