Day 1110 Mid Week Friday

Back to the beach—without even taking time to change out of my work clothes! Tim was ready to go the moment I walked in the door, so after a quick turnaround, we made our way onto the sand and found a seat at the tiki bar. We sat watching the sunset, surrounded by a beach full of seagulls and not a person in sight. It seems like everyone is back to school and settling into fall routines, while we're doing our best to hang on to summer just a little bit longer.

Trivia night is scheduled to continue through the month of September, and after the sun dipped below the horizon, we made our way up to the dining room to join our team for dinner and the game. I was starving, so my mind was more focused on food then the questions that began rolling in. The food at our club is always delicious—Tim and I both splurged and ordered steaks with all the trimmings, and we were so glad we did. I even treated myself to a small side of mac and cheese and finished the meal with cannoli for dessert. Every bite was more delicious than the last.

We didn’t come close to winning trivia, but once again had a great time and enjoyed the midweek outing. Once we settle in at the tiki bar, it always feels like a Friday—sunshine, sand, and relaxation. Oh, how we love our new beach club. Looks like we’ll be dual beach club folks for a while, living the best of both worlds.

A year ago, I gave up my cleaning lady, realizing there had to be a financial shift to absorb the cost of joining another club. And although I’ve missed coming home to that freshly cleaned house every other week, it’s been a worthwhile trade-off. Tim and I have gotten so much enjoyment from our new stomping ground—it’s quickly become an essential part of our summer routine.

It’s funny how the right place can change the rhythm of your life. As the days grow shorter, we’re savoring every last moment of this season by the sea. Here's to sunsets, trivia nights, and the joy of a spontaneous beach escape—no matter what day of the week it is. Cheers to a mid-week Friday.
