Day 1129 Perfectly beautiful
Ever want to know more about a person? Check out their kitchen table. Somehow, the kitchen table becomes a landing zone for everything—our clutter, our memories, and our most important items. When life is in order, the table reflects that. And when life feels chaotic, well, it shows that too.
Right now, my table is a mix of summer, fall, and wedding memories. A handful of cherry tomatoes wait to ripen in the sunlight. A small white chrysanthemum gently welcomes the fall. And a few delicate vases filled with wedding flowers remind me of last weekend’s celebration. When I walk into the kitchen, this little display instantly puts a smile on my face. It’s past, present, and future all in one image.
Summer chaos is slowly fading as fall’s cooler weather and familiar routines begin to settle in. I’m still holding on to the idea that summer isn’t truly over until the fall equinox—so I’ll keep wearing my white pants, soaking up the sunshine, and leaving the beach towels out just a little longer. But soon enough, the sunscreen will be tucked away, and the summer gear will be packed up… until next year.
Tim and I are easing into our cozy season. We’ve embraced quiet evenings at home—feeding the chickens, making whatever we feel like for dinner, and pretending we don’t have a care in the world. It's hard to believe we'll be lighting fires in the stove soon, shoveling snow, and decorating for the holidays!
But for now, I’ll keep enjoying the in-between moments. The ones where tomatoes, chrysanthemums, and wedding flowers all share space on the same table—reminding me that life doesn’t have to be perfectly sorted to be perfectly beautiful.
