Day 1133 Brunch
Brunch by the Ocean & Beachside Music – A Sunday Well Spent
Brunch by the ocean, followed by live music on the beach... not a bad way to spend a Sunday! I had invited my mom to join me for brunch—Tim hates the idea of brunch for some reason, so his loss was her gain. She and I threw on our brunchiest outfits and set off on a beautiful day, putting aside household chores and yard work to fully embrace the last full day of summer.
GBC put on a fabulous brunch, with delicious food as always and a packed restaurant filled with familiar faces. The club had booked a band last minute once they realized it would be a sunny day, with temps well into the seventies. I love those spur-of-the-moment additions that bring extra energy to the social vibe.
After we ate, we made a quick stop home to change into beachier attire, then headed back for the music. Tim was watching football but joined us at halftime—apparently even he couldn't resist the sunshine and music. We spent the afternoon listening to the band, chatting with friends, and soaking in the sun while watching boats and ferries glide past, as if there wasn’t a care in the world.
Honestly, my biggest struggle was deciding what to wear to brunch. I changed multiple times, wavering between too casual and too dressy, before settling on a colorful dress I bought last year but had never worn. I'm still not sure if I love it, but I got a lot of compliments, so it must have something going for it.
What really pulled the outfit together was the fabulous new green handbag Carole brought me back from Italy. It was the perfect pop of solid color, and knowing it was given to me with so much love made me feel good vibes all day long. That said, tiny handbags are getting harder and harder to manage—back in the day, all we needed were lipstick, tissues, and maybe a pair of glasses. Now, they need to hold phones, keys, and all sorts of nonsense! Thankfully, I managed to wedge my phone and glasses in, while my mom kindly carried my car keys in her bag.
In the end, we didn’t need much—just music, sunshine, and good company. And for that, my tiny bag was perfect.
You and your mom look BEAUTIFUL!!!
