Day 1134 Perfectly full
Ringing in the fall season with a fabulous lunch with the girls at one of South County’s best spots! We had so much catching up to do—weddings to hear about, laughs to share, and plenty of time just enjoying each other’s company. I love that my favorite summer friends have seamlessly woven their way into becoming year-round besties.
Friendships become even more important to us gals as we get older, and I think we’re wise enough now to truly appreciate the good ones. The universe seemed to be throwing great friends my way all day, everywhere I went.
I started the morning with a dentist appointment—early Monday, thinking no one else would want that time slot. But apparently, Melissa had the same idea, her appointment was right after mine! She brought along my childhood friend Erica (her cousin), so while Missy had her cleaning, Erica and I snuck off for breakfast. I don’t get to see her nearly enough since she lives out of state, so it’s always a treat when we connect. She and Melissa are as close to little sisters as I’ll ever have and I'm so lucky to still have them both in my life.
After dropping Erica off, I ran a few errands before meeting up with Carole and Carol for pedicures ahead of our lunch date—spoiled! Sitting outside for lunch was fantastic. Fresh air and sunshine are never a bad thing, and mix in great friends? Pure perfection. Our waitress turned out to be one of my former dance students, so lunch started off with a big hug and lots of smiles.
We lingered at the table longer than usual, none of us wanted the afternoon to end—but eventually, we had to give up our spot and carry on with our day. I swung by Job Lot to stock up on household items and met my mom there to take advantage of the senior deal of the week. Seniors over 62 (I’m so close!) get 40% back on their total purchase in the form of a Crazy Deal Gift Card. I’ll take 40% off any day!
The day wrapped up with a fun Mahjong night at my place with Carol and Maria Elaina—such a fun way to end an already wonderful day. Maria Elaina brought me the most beautiful bouquet of Dalia's that now take up the prominent position on the center of my kitchen table.
Oh, and that morning dentist visit? That was phase two of my dental implant—the part where they screw the post into the bone. So there was that! My friends cracked up when I ordered a steak sandwich at lunch, but hey, it was tender, and I chewed on the good side of my mouth. I even washed down a couple Advil with my champagne spritzer, just what the doctor ordered. I’m definitely looking forward to finally having this darn tooth finished. It’s been a long process, but worth every bit of patience—being toothless just isn’t the look for me!
All in all, it was one of those days that fills your heart right up. Here's to more sunshine filled moments, spontaneous meetups, and the kind of friends who make even dentist appointments feel lucky. A perfectly full day filled with friends, old and new.
