Day 1139 Fancy

Chores, beach, and a fancy dinner out with friends..not a bad way to spend a Saturday.

Tim and I both had household chores to tackle, so we each got to work, his loud music keeping us entertained as we moved through our to-do lists. By the afternoon, we set the chores aside and headed to the beach. The sun was shining, temperatures were in the seventies—it would’ve been a shame not to soak up those perfect conditions.

We were joined by friends and could have stayed on the sand all night, but dinner plans called us away. After a quick shower and wardrobe change, our friends arrived and we were off to the Coast Guard House, where we dined like royalty—ordering appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts, and fancy drinks.

Tim kept the table laughing all evening with his mispronunciations and his knack for inventing “new” cocktails. His salmon was served over arugula, which he confidently pronounced as “ar-gue-la,” sparking laughter all around. He also wanted a White Russian over crushed ice and dubbed it a “Creamy Russian.” I tried to tell him it already had a name, a Frozen Mudslide, but we all happily went along with his cocktail creation, none more enthusiastically than Tim himself.

The four of us laughed and joked for hours, making plans for more fall adventures and promising to get together more often now that the busy summer season has come to an end.

The Coast Guard House sits right on the ocean, waves crashing just outside our window, with moonlight shimmering across the water. It was a spectacular view, paired with delicious food and the best company—a Saturday night well spent.

Here’s to more evenings like this one—where the laughter is loud, the plates are full, and the memories made are even better.
Fall, we’re ready for you.
