Day 1160 Florida & Friends

Ok, so I’ve been waiting to wear this little outfit for weeks, and I loved it just as much as I knew I would. I found it at TJ Maxx and immediately recognized it as a Farm Rio jumper… or so I thought. When I checked the tag, it said otherwise — weird. Of course, I bought it right away for a steal at $39. When I got home, I did a little Googling and discovered the exact jumper on the Farm Rio website for a much higher price. Then I looked up the actual brand on the tag and found it selling online for $230! Don’t you just love it when you score the deal of the day?

I’d planned to wear it to Dawn’s birthday dinner, but it made its debut a night early for a fancy dinner at The Riverhouse — a gorgeous spot right on the Intracoastal. Now I’m not sure what I’ll wear for her Birthday dinner, but that’s a tomorrow problem.

We sat outside, warm breeze on our faces, boats (ok, yachts!) gliding by with their lights glowing, while we feasted on the most delicious food. I’d planned to order a giant pork chop, but after at least a dozen appetizers followed by sushi then salads, I came to my senses and split the Chicken Milanese with Casey. Even then, it was more than enough to eat! Nights like that make me truly appreciate how wonderful it is to live in Florida.

Earlier in the day, we lounged by the pool, sunbathing and dipping in to cool off, though with the pool heater set to 90 degrees, it was more like a warm hug than a shock of cold. The occasional cloud gave us a minute or two of shade, but the sun always came right back. I could honestly lay in the sunshine all day… and maybe I did. Feeling that vitamin D soak in was pure bliss. At least I managed a few miles of walking in the morning, otherwise, it would’ve been a perfectly lazy day of nothing but sunbathing and fine dining.

There’s something so wonderfully simple about days like these, sunshine, good food, great friends, and the perfect outfit. Here’s to more evenings spent under glowing lights, laughing over shared plates, and soaking up every beautiful moment Florida has to offer. Soaking in my sunshine & time with one of my oldest & very best friends....hard to beat that!
