Day 1168 Sprinkle

Baby boy #3 is on the way for my beautiful stepdaughter, Bridie — and Grand baby #6 for me and Tim!

Sometimes I wonder how the heck we got so lucky to be surrounded by all this love. Of course, my photo of me and Bridie is also showing off those darn decorations that almost killed me! No one walking in had any idea of the painstaking work that went into that small display..but I know they added cheer!

Bridie was as happy as could be, visiting with friends and family, and thankfully, all the food I made came out delicious. I turned one of my favorite chicken dishes into a carousel-style setup so it was easy to serve and super tasty. Jess made cupcakes, and I baked a carrot cake (Bridie’s favorite), so dessert was definitely a hit.

Donna arrived early with bread and all the makings for a delicious tossed salad. Both she and my mom helped get all the appetizers out, and with fifteen minutes to spare, everything came together beautifully before the first guests arrived. My house even looked fairly put together!

I made those fancy champagne cocktails I fell in love with in Florida, topped with lemon sorbet and a sprig of mint, there were no complaints there!

This wasn’t a full-on baby shower since it’s the third baby, but a small gathering was definitely in order....AKA a "Sprinkle".  And since her youngest is four, she’ll certainly need a few newborn essentials again.

I’ve always said once you have three kids, you might as well have a dozen! One is easy, two are manageable, but once you have that third, you’ll never cook a meal again that pleases everyone. You can’t hold all their hands at once, and someone will always have to share a room no matter how you slice it.

All that said, I’ll keep my third — he’s pretty awesome. And now I have Bridie too, my fourth bonus child.

Color me one lucky mom... and Grandma.

As our family keeps growing,  Tim and I are eternally grateful for each for every new addition. Here’s to another sweet baby boy, a house full of laughter, and all the chaos that makes life so wonderfully full. 💙
