Day 1182 Relax
Sometimes you just need a day to relax, reset, and indulge… done! I lollygagged around all morning before meeting my daughter-in-law for pedicures and lunch, tough life, I know. By the time I arrived home in the late afternoon, I had zero motivation to tackle any projects, so I headed to bed to watch some nonsensical television and indulge in one of Tim’s ice cream treats… shhh.
I ended up watching The Millionaire Matchmaker, with each episode showcasing a new level of train wreck, the kind you just can’t look away from. Where do they find these people? (Or do all the crazy ones just move to LA?) Episode after episode, I found myself increasingly thankful for my quiet life on the East Coast and my relationship with Timothy. It was mind-numbing TV… exactly what I needed.
As I half-watched, I mentally started planning outfits for the upcoming week, yes, I do that, I'd hate to waste a great outfit on the wrong day. I also marveled at how quickly the weekend flies by. How can weekdays feel so long, yet the weekend disappears in a blink?
Still, I can’t complain too much. I have freshly polished toes, a lovely visit with friends and family under my belt, a new “iPhone 17 orange” sequin dress, a chic spring blazer, and three little birdies keeping me company in the living room.
Sometimes, the best kind of day is one that asks nothing of you except to breathe, recharge, and be grateful for the small joys. Here’s to pretty toes, lazy Sundays, and feeling ready to take on a brand-new week....no matter what comes my way!
“The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it.” — Sydney J. Harris
