Day 1183 Why Not?
Who’s Ready for the Holidays???
Or at least excited? Some people get annoyed when they see Christmas trees popping up in stores — not me! I love everything about it. I’m a Christmas gal, always have been. It’s my holiday Super Bowl! Pretty lights, holiday cheer, fun parties, and family gatherings… what’s not to love?
Since Tim and I hosted a big Christmas party last year, I’ve been asked over and over by friends if we’re doing it again. Honestly, I’m just not sure. I love a good party, but I’m thinking about switching things up with a New Year’s Eve-themed celebration in early January. Still deciding! I’d hate to spend all that time decorating and prepping only for people to walk into the same old vibe, gotta keep things fresh.
Last year’s Christmas party had a 1960s retro theme, and it was such a hit. I could always dream up a new theme… so many decisions! One thing’s for sure, I’ve got an iPhone 17 orange sequin dress ready for a party. Not sure it fits a Christmas vibe, though!
Tim isn’t usually (actually, never) a fan of hosting parties. He thinks they’re too much work, which always makes me laugh since I do the lion’s share of the planning, prep, and cleanup. He’s funny like that! But once the party is in full swing, he always rises to the occasion with entertaining stories and antics.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we’ve already been invited to a pre-Thanksgiving party, so the season has officially begun. I’ve been squirreling away gifts for family as I shop, it’s never easy buying for everyone, and I hate grabbing random things just for the sake of having a gift. When I find something perfect for someone, I scoop it up right away. Otherwise, I don’t force it. I may bake everyone’s favorite treats this year, that’s always a hit, especially with my son-in-law.
The holidays always sneak up fast, but that’s part of the magic. Whether we end up throwing a party (90% sure it’ll happen) or just soaking it all in, I’m ready for the sparkle, the warmth, and all the little moments that make this season special. Might be time to start decorating!
One of my favorite memories from last year’s party was when a friend of ours scanned all my fancy garland on the stairway and over the door and asked his wife why they didn’t have garland. Ahh… I’m sure it was her favorite moment, but who knew the guys would notice all my hard work....and love it so much? I’m still not sure Tim even noticed!
Here’s to another season of twinkle lights, garland, glitter, treats, presents, family, friends and maybe just one more excuse to throw a fabulous party..... because why not?
