Day 2123 Gifts

Aww, my sweet Peps! Bridie and her family gave me this awesome print with an image of Peps, complete with oysters and champagne in front of her...fantastic! Peps will always have a place in my heart, and now she’ll have a permanent place in our house as well.

We opened a few gifts since they won’t be here for Christmas, and early gifts are always a good idea. The kids opened Legos and immediately started building. Kids’ faces are priceless when they open gifts, there’s no faking it, and fortunately, our gifts brought big smiles.

I’m amazed I got anything done at all, since I spent about six hours straight holding that precious baby. He’s beyond perfect, and I just couldn’t give him up. I didn’t even bother showering or getting dressed until it was time to get ready for a party. Bridie and the crew went to one party, and Tim and I went to another—’tis the season!

Of course, I wore my prom dress/skirt again and will wear it every chance I get from now until the end of time. Our Christmas party was fun; I showed off baby pictures and bragged about my grandkids, as every proud Grammy would. We headed home at a reasonable hour, fully aware that the kids would be awake bright and early, expecting Grammy to whip up her famous pancakes.

The boys have told me I’m the best cook they know, and that I make things so fast I’m like a chef. Yep, flattery will get you fresh pancakes every visit! The new cat, however, is far less impressed with the kids’ visit and kept herself safely hidden away in her basement hiding spot. She may be a New Year’s cat, hopefully emerging sometime in 2026.

We all joked about the beautiful picture of Peps, laughing that Gypsy won’t get her portrait until she comes out of hiding! I wish the weekends wouldn't go by so darn fast, I need more baby time! Still so much to do...the holiday crunch is on, but this grammy is too darn busy loving those grandkids to care! The gifts were great but my favorite gifts call me grammy.
