Up early, whipping the house back into shape, so fast, in fact, that Tim said I was like a wizard....see, he does throw out a compliment every so often. As I cleaned and removed all remnants of our fun party, I also had time to admire all the gifts my friends had brought me. Go figure...they brought gifts! I love a good hostess gift, while Tim is left wondering why host gifts aren’t in vogue. Although, he did get a beautiful framed photo of him and his brothers, all looking sharp and walking like a group of gangsters.
My friend Donna brought me this pretty little sign that reads, “Perhaps we should love ourselves so fiercely that when others see us, they know exactly how it should be done.” ~ Rudy Francisco. She said when she saw it, she was reminded of me, how sweet is that?
I’ve never suffered from low self-esteem and see no reason to apologize for my inflated ego. Aren’t we all supposed to be our own greatest fans? I truly believe in supporting each other as fiercely as possible, building up our family and friends and showering them with love, compliments, and encouragement every chance I get. I brag all the time about having the very best friends in the world… but I’m pretty sure if you asked them, they’d tell you I’m no slouch either.
My friends may be great, but they sure are messy, not sure I had a guest who didn’t spill a drink, myself included! So one of my first morning chores was cleaning and washing all the floors, and of course, tackling the dishes. By 9 a.m., I had gone through the house like a tornado, and by afternoon I was happily out with my chickens as if nothing had ever happened. The basement cat is still in her spot, thrilled to have everyone gone, I’m sure.
And just like my speed-cleaning spree, the weekend has come to an end. How is it that weekdays feel so long, yet weekends pass in a blink? Still, I wouldn’t trade the mess, the laughter, or the love for anything.....and I’ll happily do it all again...sooner rather than later. Love fiercely.... but remember to include yourself in that love.
