Day 2158 Storm Ready

 

Storm prep: complete. Cookies baked, dishes and laundry done, and I even ran out to the store to pick up a few treats. I had to laugh at myself and my level of storm readiness, my homemade storm prep kit is fully stocked with waterproof matches, batteries of all sizes, tarps, duct tape, candles, lanterns, flashlights, an AM/FM radio, and just about anything and everything you can imagine…including a LifeStraw. As if I’ll be down at the river drinking water through a straw. And I was never even a Girl Scout!

I baked cookies, have dinner planned for the crockpot, and even prepped cinnamon buns for the morning. My friends are always jealous when I make my homemade cinnamon rolls, so I got a couple of pans ready for them to take and bake at home...now everyone can enjoy.

Tim and I met friends for dinner, and the Mariner Grille was busier than I expected. I guess everyone wanted to get out before the storm. After a long day of scurrying around prepping for the impending weather, a dinner out was just what the doctor ordered.

Big news on the eagle front…Jackie has laid another egg, so the eagle watch is back on! If you know, you know. Donna is jazzed up to go on an eagle-watching river cruise, so plans have been made for us gals to go. I’m always up for a new adventure and a day off with friends, so any eagle sightings will just be icing on the cake. Hopefully we’ll get lucky and see lots of eagles…maybe even snap a photo or two.

Speaking of photos, my uploading struggle continues. Now my iPad has updated, and I’m blocked from uploading from that device as well. Ugh! Looks like my storm day will be filled with trying to figure out whatever is going on with that. So for now…either no photo, a random one I can pull from the internet, or whatever old pics I have on my laptop. Hopefully it’ll all be fixed soon, because I had a really good photo ready to go of my storm prep kit. For now, random stock photo of a winter storm kit...ugh!

So now I wait....storm-ready, cinnamon buns queued up, cookies on standby, and fingers crossed for finding my phone fix.  However the day unfolds, I’ll be cozy, well-fed, and hopefully back to sharing photos again soon. Stay safe and snug.... and enjoy the storm!

Photo update….not easy but found a fix
