Day 2181 Bonus Day

Forget the cold temps… it’s time to get back to my walking routine!
My mom and I had plans to walk the seawall, but we opted for an afternoon stroll instead of an early morning start, hoping it would warm up a bit. I’m not sure it actually warmed much, but at least the sunshine was out, and every ray of warm sunshine was appreciated.
On the upside, there was ample parking, hardly anyone on the wall, and the wind only stung our faces in one direction. Thankfully, it was at our backs on the return walk… otherwise, we might have convinced ourselves it was wise to extend our walk!
I do love a three-day weekend, and Presidents’ Day feels like a bonus day for almost everyone. Tim and I met friends for a late-afternoon lunch (or early dinner!) at George’s, where we watched the boats cruise by and even spotted a seal swimming in the channel. Our meals were delicious, and we stayed for the sunset toast, when the bartender hands out complimentary glasses of champagne and the entire room raises a glass to the beautiful sunset. Not a bad way to end the day!
I’m not sure I walked quite enough to counterbalance my meal and dessert… but at least my muscles are now fully aware they’re being called out for their winter lollygagging.
Still no news on the whereabouts of Nancy Guthrie, which has the entire country scratching its head… where is she?! Who would take an old lady??? Why??
Here’s hoping for answers to Nancy's whereabouts... a little more sunshine, a little less wind, and maybe a few more miles under my belt this week. Until then, I’ll keep showing up, one brisk, slightly windblown step at a time.
