Down

Down for the count, I’m resting up and hoping whatever has hit me passes soon. I stayed in bed all day, with Tim bringing me food, even running to the market for freshly made Italian wedding soup. If I’d had the energy to walk downstairs to eat, I would have, but seeing a tray appear at my bedside was pretty nice.
I slept on and off, Tim saying I was out like a koala, apparently they sleep 23 out of every 24 hours! It’s important to listen to our bodies and rest when that’s what’s required, and as hard as I go daily is about as hard as I crash… I’m an all-or-nothing gal, apparently.
I must have started to feel a bit better, because my weekend chores began creeping back into my thoughts. I hate starting the week behind the eight ball, and after being away last weekend, there’s plenty of catching up to do. At least I’ll have one more weekend to get my life in order before all the Easter and birthday festivities. The last time my birthday fell on the holiday was eleven years ago, so it doesn’t happen often, but it makes the day feel extra special. Of course, I’ll be hosting, so I’m guaranteed to have a great cake.
For now, I’m giving myself permission to slow down and recover fully. The to-do list will still be there, but hopefully tomorrow I’ll be back on my feet and ready to ease into the week ahead....or jump in full force.
