Game time

There are people all over the country checking their mailboxes, anticipating the arrival of the new card. I’m happy to report....mine is here, and I’m ready for the 2026 games. If you know, you know…and if you don’t, that’s okay, but at least be aware: the new year is upon us.
The new Mahjong card has all-new sequences to try, and so far, it looks like it will be a great year of game play. Thank goodness I’ve taught a few of my friends how to play, building my own game table one friend at a time. They followed my advice and ordered their new cards months ago, not even realizing how important that decision would become, so they will be ready to play and I'm sure will thank me!
Now I just need to feel well enough to play. I couldn’t get home fast enough, crashing into bed and hoping I could sleep off whatever has me feeling so badly, a good sleep usually helps heal all. Although I hate using my weekend to rest, that seems to be what’s in the cards for now. I doubt I would have had dinner if not for my forethought in putting it all together first thing in the morning; I came home to the delicious smell of a meal, easily pretending someone else had made it.
Even with the mouth watering smells of dinner, I couldn’t bring myself to go downstairs to eat, so Tim brought me a plate and waited on me like a dutiful husband, even with all my grumbles. So I’m staying in bed, resting up and hoping to spring back into life any day now, ready for a game or two with my new card.
With any luck, this little pause is just the calm before I'm back scurrying around as usual. and ready for a year full of tiles clicking, game nights with friends and long-awaited wins. Here’s to feeling better soon, and to many fantastic games ahead.
