Lazy Dinner

I’m not usually one to post a foodie picture, but this lazy man’s lobster was so scrumptious it was worth acknowledging.
I was busy all day with a Mahjong event, leaving my house before 7 a.m. and not getting back until after 5. Exhausting, but so much fun. I had organized a day of gaming, collaborating with another gal to pull it all together and host a full day of Mahjong for over 160 people. The Mahjongers are a crazy bunch who came out in droves to play, eager for a day of tile turning with fellow gamers.
What made the day so special was the sense of community, everyone jumping in to help, lending sets, card tables, and game pads, and eagerly joining in, meeting new friends and playing as if we were at Bryant Park. Since I was the organizer, I didn’t get to play much, but I jumped in here and there and even won when I did, flexing my Mahjong skills.
The room was filled with electric energy, smiles, and laughter, and everyone left with new friend connections. I’d call it a huge success. My friend Betsy and I fed off each other while organizing this, both bringing big energy and excitement. When we merged our ideas, it was an explosive combination. Big props to her!
By the time I made it home, Tim had been waiting for me before having dinner, and since I wasn’t cooking, we headed to Mariner Grille where we knew we’d have a great meal and a good time. A man next to me was eating the lazy man’s lobster special and it looked so darn good I had to copy him. Oh, was I glad I did. It was absolutely scrumptious, filled with scallops, shrimp, and mouthwatering lobster meat, with a dish of hot butter on the side. With a glass of red wine, it was the perfect ending to a fabulous day.
Sometimes the best days are the ones that leave you completely exhausted but completely happy. Great friends, a room full of laughter, and an unforgettable meal at the end, what more could you ask for? ...maybe another day or two in the weekend...I've got an egg eater to deal with and a basement cat to tend to!
