perfection

Advice for the day: set up the card table, invite friends over, and enjoy a game night, always. It’s really never a bad idea to have a dozen friends over, with three tables of games going on simultaneously and laughter and chatter filling the house. My goal is to need a fourth table....why not? I happen to have awesome friends.
Even Tim skipped card night to join in the Mahjong fun, and he wasn’t even the only guy in the mix. As adults, we get so caught up in thinking getting together always means going out to dinner, when all the fun we need is right here at home (although I’m not hating on great meals). My parents’ generation certainly had more house parties, there was always a staff party, game night, or some type of gathering happening, and I’m doing my best to keep that trend going.
My house was a mess after being sick all weekend, but when my friends arrive, they’re here to see me, not my cleaning skills, so who cares? As long as they’re welcomed with a smile and can sit back, relax, have a drink, and forget about the world for a bit, life is good.
I wasn’t sure I’d be feeling up to having everyone over, but filling my house with friends turned out to be the best medicine I could have asked for… that, and a new prescription for an antibiotic.
When everyone left, I decided to keep the card table set up and ready for next week, fingers crossed I’ll be adding a fourth.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about a perfection it’s about connection, and making time for the people who matter....that’s always worth it.
