I was like a kid on Christmas morning as I opened my new Mahjong set. I had received the delivery notification and couldn’t get home fast enough to see it. I was impressed right from the start. The box it came in is absolutely beautiful, I’m definitely “don’t get rid of a good box” old, but this one truly deserves to be kept.

Inside, all the treasures were neatly packed in a canvas tote bag, perfect for the beach. I pulled out the blue striped mat, featuring an image of beach chairs and an umbrella in the center, such a fun touch. Next, I reached for the tile bag and unzipped it to reveal the most beautiful ocean-themed tiles I’ve ever seen: coral, anchors, fish, and seaweed, all with green backs and four layers of color. The tiles are thick and substantial, perfect for playing.

The set also came with four clear pushers, seriously, everything a girl could want, all in one lovely box. I still can’t believe my timing was so perfect. This set was available for about two minutes, and I happened to see it at just the right moment before it sold out, color me lucky!

This is going to be the absolute perfect set to bring to my beach clubs. I’ve always loved having just the right accoutrements for any occasion. I opened each item with more enthusiasm than the last, even FaceTiming a friend to show her, since Tim wasn’t quite appreciating the level of treasure that had arrived.

I can’t wait to christen my new set. Now I only wish I had bought a few, my daughter would love one too. I’ll be keeping an eye out in case they restock, but for now, I’m happy to share. No sense keeping all the Mahjong joy to myself.

Now I’m ready for the beach… I just need the weather to catch up with me. And when it does, you can bet this set will be the first thing I pack, because some things are just too good not to bring along for the fun...or for me to make my own fun.
