Blur

This may have been the only moment of the day that wasn't a blur. Busy, busy, busy... one of those nights where one thing rolled right into the next!
Plans were being made before I had even walked through the door. Tim was ready to pounce on the weekend, but first he had to show me the large branch that had fallen in our backyard. I hadn't realized the wind had been so strong! With the yard now covered in debris, we'll be adding yet another chore to our never-ending to-do list.
I managed to sit down for roughly five minutes before throwing on a change of clothes and heading back out. We decided to have dinner at our Elks Lodge, where the Friday night fish fry is always delicious. Walking through the doors of the Elks is like walking into a class reunion. We chatted with friends, enjoyed our meals, and then headed outside to the tiki bar, which is named after one of our classmates who passed away a few years ago.
Mother Nature wasn't finished treating us. As we sat outside, a beautiful rainbow stretched across the sky, showing off its spectacular colors. Then the texts started rolling in, telling us how fantastic the band was at the beach club. Off we went, and we're so glad we listened! Up All Night definitely didn't disappoint. We danced the night away after being treated to yet another incredible sunset display from Mother Nature...thank you!
Between songs, we watched the Block Island Ferry travel back and forth, carrying weekend travelers to the island. It had us wondering... maybe another day trip to Block Island should be in our future?
We didn't leave the beach until after 11:00, but the night still wasn't over. We headed into town and stopped at Joyce's Pub. Tim had invited a group to meet us there, but we both knew no one would be crazy enough to keep the evening going... other than us!
Instead, we walked right into a karaoke party, complete with many of the Elks staff and friends from all walks of life. Tim and one of his card league friends even grabbed the microphone and sang a few songs, and somehow the night just kept rolling.
I don't think we made it home until well after midnight, completely exhausted but smiling. It was one of those Fridays where every stop led to another unexpected adventure, reminding us that sometimes the best nights are the ones you never really plan. We certainly packed every ounce of fun we could into the day, and I'd say we got our money's worth out of Friday!..I'm sure my old legs will feel it for days, that beach dancing isn't easy! And maybe I'll work on getting a few photos next time that aren't all a blur.
